NY/LONDON trip / Cohort’s Log / Day 2
On the second day of our field trip to New York, our group of M.Sc. in Shipping Management students along with our faculty members, have had the privilege of visiting The American P&I Club and warmly welcomed by the esteemed senior management team, including Daniel Tadros, Chief Operating Officer, Molly McCafferty, Co-Global Claims Director, Tom Hamilton, Chief Underwriting Officer and William Moore, Global Loss Prevention Director.
Our team has the opportunity to participating in in-depth discussions on the P&I industry, risk management principles, claims handling case studies and member support in an enriching and unique experience. The valuable insights shared on the challenges of the shipping sector, along with the Club’s guidance on key soft skills and professional conduct, provided us with a truly impactful learning opportunity.
We extend our sincere gratitude to The American P&I Club and CEO Dorothea Ioannou for hosting and sharing their time with us. The meaningful experience, set against the backdrop of your remarkable office view, has left a lasting impression on all of us and will undoubtedly serve as a valuable lesson in our academic and professional journeys.
