NY trip / Cohort’s Log / Day 1
The Port of New York and New Jersey is the busiest port on the U.S. East Coast, handling over $200 billion in cargo annually and supporting more than 400,000 jobs, as described by Mr. Rado Saragih, Shipper Outreach Manager.
We at the MSc in Shipping Management, along with 41 postgraduate students and three faculty members, were privileged to have the opportunity to visit a port of this magnitude and gain firsthand insights into port management.
A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Rado Saragih, Shipper Outreach Manager, and Mr. Zac Werkmeister, Manager of Carrier & Terminal Outreach, for their invaluable time and for sharing their expertise. Their insights not only provided our students with a deeper understanding of the Port Authority’s role but also sparked a lively and engaging discussion, making the visit an even more enriching experience.
We truly appreciate the exclusive tour of the port and the knowledge exchanged during our time there.
