As part of our “Dialogues with the Industry” initiative, students and faculty visited Laskaridis Shipping, gaining insights into its Operations and Chartering Departments and the impact of digitalization on the shipping industry.
Mr. Georgios Christopoulos, C.O.O. and Vice Admiral (Rtd.), analyzed the transformative impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution, focusing on data-driven operations and the challenges of digitalization, leaving attendees with the thought-provoking question: “Data-Driven or Human-Centred Companies?”
Mrs. Efi Smyrlaki, Deputy Crew Director, outlined the company’s operations, followed by Mr. Marios Gerardis, Director of Dry Bulk Operations, who detailed key functions of the Operations Department. Mr. Alexander Barry, Chartering Deputy Director, concluded with a comprehensive breakdown of Chartering roles and an engaging discussion.
